On the 12th July 2025, we participated in the E2 Community Bands competition in the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen. Our set comprised of the following pieces:
- Lymington Quay, by Tony Kitcherside
- Serenade, by Derek Bourgeois
- Vicennial Celebration, by Karl D. Whelan
The competition was held in the main Pavilion – an absolutely wonderful venue.
In addition to the Mold Town Concert Band, the other two competitors were The Chester Big Band and Band Pres Hŷn Gwasanaeth Cerdd Ysgol.
Band Pres Hŷn Gwasanaeth Cerdd Ysgol took first place with a very tight performance, including a wonderful flugelhorn solo played by one of their young players in their second piece.
Mold Town Concert Band and Chester Big Band came joint second.
